I keep mulling over the role that technology played in his life--particularly how it probably gave him a little more time yet ultimately did him in. Having watched my brother's similar battle (Hodgkins, lymphoma, basal cell skin cancer, melanoma, and finally radiation-induced carcinoma), I'm very mixed about how much I believe in technology any more...yet running in hopes of a cure sure beats sitting on the sidelines, passively watching the likes of Dave being cut down. I know that's not how Dave lived his own life. So thanks, JP, for daring to hope and for getting involved in something that just might make a difference.
